PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING I hope to see you at our PATT sponsored FUN FAIR tonight! Enjoy all the games, raffles, and food! 6:30-8:30 PM in our gymnasium & cafeteria. Thanks to those families that attended our Technology Symposium on Thursday; the pizza was great and the informative meeting detailed the district’s current and future technology plans to expand the learning platform for all students. Parent-Teacher conferences are right around the corner and will be held on Feb. 15 & 16 from 3-7 PM. Research shows that parents actively involved in their child’s learning see their child grow faster and it helps develop life-long learning skills they will need as they mature. If you haven’t already scheduled your time to meet with your child’s teacher, please do so at your earliest convenience. I hope your conversations about what and how your child is learning at school are showing changes in what they are saying to you.

WORDS OF WISDOM Happy Friday Panthers and Parents! The theme for the month of February is “Sharing Similarities/Celebrating Differences.” This week we focused on uniqueness. Every human being that has ever lived, or ever will live, is unique. You are truly one of a kind. We all know that we, as humans, share the usual bits and pieces that most of us have in common, such as certain essential body parts. Your life experiences thus far have made you the person you are today. The way you were brought up by your parents and the things that you learned in your childhood have come together to make you different from everyone else. It is the combination of everything that you have learned and the various things that you have done that make you truly different from everyone else on this planet. Others may share some of your talents and abilities, but there is no one who is identical to you. It is rather like an artist painting a picture; even if another artist were to copy the picture as closely as possible it would never be identical. Different brush strokes or combinations of paint would have been used, and each masterpiece is its own. So since you are unique, why not celebrate that fact? Dare to be your own person and disregard what others may think. Cecil Beaton once said, “Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.” So celebrate the fact that you are unique and that you have a contribution to make to this world! Have a wonderful weekend, and remember to come to school on Monday prepared to Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be ready for class! With something to think about, this is Ms. Martini. Make it a great weekend – or not. The choice is yours!
Students will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart during their specials time on Friday, February 10!
BE RESPONSIBLE, BE RESPECTFUL, BE READY
