Crops are harvested based on what is ready at that particular point in the season. Their quantity is based on what size share you have purchased; half or full. If you get a vegetable that you don’t like ask around and see if other shareholders picking up their boxes would like to trade!
Can I choose what I receive in my box?
The Procter Center CSA is a partnership between farmers and shareholders in which the the risks and rewards of the growing season are a shared venture. Bad weather and pests pose the greatest threat to crops which may lead to a less diverse harvest. The potential rewards, in contrast, are fresh and delicious vegetables all season long. As a shareholder you agree to take part in the adventure of this CSA, sharing with us the risks and bounties of small-scale, local agriculture.
What are the risks of joining the CSA?

WHAT IS A CSA? CSA (community supported agriculture) is a particular network or association of individuals who have pledged to support one or more local farms, with growers and consumers sharing the risks and benefits of food production. CSA members pay at the onset of the growing season for a share of the anticipated harvest; once harvesting begins, they receive weekly shares of vegetables and fruit.
What if I am unable to pick up my share one week? Picking up your share is your responsibility. If you are going to be out of town, you may arrange for someone else to come and pick it up for you. Have the person give your name so we can record that your box for that week was received.
