General Information Product Overview What does a Vege-Polisher™ do?
Washes and polishes fresh produce to highest retailing standards.
How does a Vege-Polisher™ work?
Produce travels through a rotating barrel, made up of rotating brush rollers. Produce is washed/polished as it rubs against other produce as well as the rotating brushes.
What produce types can be used?
Potatoes, carrots, beetroot (beet), parsnips, sugar cane, ginger, turnips, swede and other fresh produce.
When should you use a Vege-Polisher™?
To clean produce to a high level, ready for retail shelves. To handle large volumes of produce (5 - 25 t/hr).

General Information (cont.) Product Overview (cont.) What is the difference between a Vege-Polisher™ and a Vege-Peeler?
Where in a produce line, should a Vege-Polisher™ be?
What other equipment might be needed: Produce Things that affect Vege-Polisher™ performance:
A Vege-Peeler uses stiffer brushes and more powerful motors to remove skin as well as debris. Drying or cooling equipment. Place Vege-Polisher™ Grading, sizing or inspection equipment. before: Bagging or other storage. Wet Hopper, Hedgehog, Barrel Washer or Place Vege-Polisher™ other dirt removing equipment. after: Conveyors or flume delivery. Water Recycling System to go underneath. Condition and type of produce. Amount of time produce spends travelling through the barrel.
Machine
Depth of produce in the machine. Speed of drum and brushes. Amount of water lubricating produce.
Throughput (t/hr)
Number of brushes and length determine throughput.
Where is water supplied from?
A combination of fresh and recycled water is often used to give a fresh rinse at the outfeed while running the Polisher with recycled water to minimise fresh water demand. Recycled water can be taken from a Water Recycling System or another part of the line, or fresh water may be used.

How does it work?
Water spray bars: Lubricate produce and flush away dirt/debris. Brush speed: Increase speed for more aggressive scrubbing. Brush options: Wyma will recommend the best brush combination for you. Drum speed: Increase speed for more agitation/mixing. Also reduces dwell time slightly.
Outfeed gate position determines the level of produce in the machine. Higher produce level means longer polishing time and greater scrubbing action.
