CTS Containment Transfer System The Telstar CTS Rapid Transfer Port system is the next generation of transfer port technology, providing a secure high containment transfer system with ease of operation and cleanability.

Product Overview An important product within Telstar's extensive range purposely designed to be the safest method of transferring product / waste or items into or out of contained or sterile areas is Telstar’s CTS. The CTS Rapid Transfer are available in a varied range of sizes and materials to provide a wide scale of containment solutions.

Main Advantages Totally mechanical system (no power needed) with safety ? devices to prevent incorrect operations (not operator dependant). Colour Indicators on locking mechanism provide visual ? feedback on transfer port status. Cleaner surfaces with minimised dirt traps for easier cleaning ? and sanitation. Fixed door with accurate positioning for ease of operation. ? Mirror finished door provides extended visibility to underside ? of arm. Removable acetal inserts for replaceable high wearing ? surfaces. Easy installation to rigid wall structures. ?

Operating Function The full range of Telstar CTS rapid transfer ports includes: The active assembly that resides in the critical environment (eg ? an isolator). The passive assembly (usually attached to a canister) that docks ? with the active assembly and is used to transfer items between sterile environments. The system relies on a knife edge 'seal to seal' arrangement (as diagram) between the Active assembly and the Passive assembly.

Sterile Process The design is so that the two normally exposed surfaces to the outside conditions (i.e. the active door outer and the passive door outer) are locked and sealed together and never come into contact with the environment inside the barrier, keeping the sterility after the docking.

Passive Assembly

Where the CTS is used for transferring in/out or product / waste out within a toxic environment the same principles apply, the exposed/contaminated surfaces which are generally inside the contained environment are sealed when the assemblies are undocked. Possible to achieve operator exposure level (OEL) in the nano-gram scale.

High Integrity Locking System The CTS features a high integrity locking system that prevents inadvertent breach of the containment/sterile environment inside the isolator or canister. It is not possible to undock the passive part when the double door is open and Prevents canister undocking without door ? correctly closed. It is not possible to open the active or the passive door when the passive part is undocked and prevents door opening ? without canister correctly docked.
