PUBLIC WORKS WATER DEPARTMENT
The City of Nogales is currently recruiting for the following position:
WATER SUPERVISOR Responsibilities: Directs and supervises the operations of the City’s water systems; exercises supervision over subordinate water department personnel. Determines work assignments’ sets work priorities; trains staff; prepares and approves time sheets and time off requests; conducts performance reviews’ participates in employee discipline issues. Monitors the supply of potable water within the City’s reservoirs to ensure that domestic water demands and fire emergency service requirements are met; plans, schedules, coordinates, monitors, records, and controls imported water delivers. Assists in the development of capital improvement projects. Operates and controls the SCADA systems. Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, disinfecting and performing repairs to wells, reservoirs and pumping facilities.
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Five (5) years of water system operations experience; Two (2) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent; Valid Arizona State Driver’s License, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Water Distribution Grade 4 Certification (or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire), Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Water Treatment Operator Grade 2 Certification (or obtain within six (6) months of hire). License and Certification Requirements: Valid Arizona state Class B Commercial driver’s license; Arizona Water Treatment Operator Grade 2; Arizona Water Distribution Operator Grade 4; Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Preferred Qualifications: Spanish Language Fluency; Arizona Wastewater Collection Grade 1; Arizona Wastewater Treatment Grade 1 Salary/Classification: Full-Time Position; FLSA Non-Exempt; Salary Range $41,429-$58,040 plus benefits as outlined in the Personnel Manual.
