The Puerto Rican Garden Snake is widely distributed across Puerto Rico, and it inhabits mesic and xeric environments2. Although it is characterized by secretive habits, it can occas ionally be seen gliding in the grass, and it is more commonly found under logs, rocks, tree stumps and even under termites nests 1. A. exiguum feeds mainly on coqui frogs (eggs, juveniles and adults), anole lizards, adults of Typhlops and Amphisbaena1.
