BBQ NIGHTS AT SUNDAYS! a multi-award winning cookshack smoker imported from the home of real BBQ, Oklahoma USA and is cooked for a minimum of 12 hours. The taste of the meat really does represent the dedication, time and care that goes into cooking it and as my dining companion said: “I’m a meat eater and I like this.”
In last month’s column, I touched on the new BBQ Nights at the popular city centre eatery Sundays, owned by David Beever. I was delighted when the team asked if I wanted to pop along and sample some of their delicacies – I’ve always been a fan of Sundays and will wave the flag for independent businesses as much as I can. I couldn’t wait to see what the food and vibe was like now this cool daytime restaurant has opened its doors during the evening and taken on a whole new look and flavour. I was greeted with a big smile and a heartfelt hello by front of house manager Russell Curl followed by the enthusiastic and experienced head chef Carl Blackstock. It’s great to meet people with a genuine passion for what they do and both these guys really care about the food they serve and ensuring customers have a great experience. Candles on the table, mellow lighting, the gentle chatter and laughter of diners and of course, delicious food, made my whole dining experience extremely relaxed and enjoyable, the way it should be! So let’s talk food. The meat such as beef brisket, pulled pork, lamb kebabs and ribs are all cooked on
You’ll be pleased to hear that in keeping with the independent feel, most of the meat you’ll eat at BBQ Nights has full traceability as they buy and support awardwinning butchers G.Simpson (www.gsimpsonbutchers.co.uk), who they’ve been purchasing their meat from for 11 years now. The BBQ boards are amazing and great to share with a friend whilst enjoying a drink and a chat. You can choose your board size and we had the pleasure of tasting the Mixed Meat Board which is
