QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER WINTER 2013 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827
916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com.
We are in midst of the HOLIDAYS and everyone is busy making last minute purchases and doing last minute tasks, BUT we hope you take some time out to peruse the 2013 newsletter for our outstanding new creations, deliveries and classes. IF you can not decide what to give for the holiday gifts, please do not forget to tell your friends and spouses that a GIFT CERTIFICATE from Quilters’ Corner would be perfect. We also have some last minute stars and trees made out of fat quarters to tempt you for those secret pal gifts. On to activities………………… we will be having our MEET THE TEACHERS on Sunday, January 6th, 2013. Take some time out for yourselves and come visit the store. Sign-up for a class, meet a new instructor, have some goodies, or just visit with our staff and look at our new products. We will be giving a fat quarter away with any class signup that day, just to clean the shelves off and make room for all the new fabrics. Now, on to the new arrivals….. We have already received Edyta Sitar’s line of “Over the Rainbow” and will be getting her next one soon. She loves to design her own projects and fabric and her signature is to mix 1800’s with Batiks. Yes, the thought made me ill as I am an 1800’s fan, BUT when you see her quilts, you will change your mind. We still have some openings in “Spring Bouquet”, which is one of her block of the month appliqué projects. The great thing is all the pieces are precut and pre-fused, so all you have to do is sew the on. We have tons of new Bali Pops. They come in delicious flavors to entice such as Tiramisu, Parfait, Wild Berry and Macaroon. MMMmmmmmmmm ! They are so beautiful that we can not keep them in stock. If you love Asian fabrics, we are fully stocked plus have a large shipment of Indigo’s coming in. For those of you who love to do Sashiko, we will also be receiving the solid indigo. Do not forget those children’s quilts: the Linus project, the guild community service quilts, and the next door neighbor who just had another baby. Some of you might remember “PAM KITTY” from Lakehouse. Well, it is coming around again and is the cutest collection of bright teacups and florals. The pattern that comes with it has Scotties and a darling house, hearts, cherries and a mailbox. Also, from Clothworks, we will be receiving a full assortment of “Cuddly Baby”. It has letters and numbers and is in soft pastels. Great cuddle quilts for teaching a child his numbers and letters. Another good children’s line, coming in January, is “Storybook Classics” form Windham. It is bright and fun, perfect for kids. In January, we will be receiving lots of basics for our color wall. Everybody needs that tone on tone to go with the other fabulous focus fabrics. As usual, we have a large collection of white on white and creams, great for backgrounds and alternate pieces. For the Kaffe aficionados, our collection is quite vast already and will be added to in January again, by twenty more bolts. His new book “ Kaffe Quilts Again” is out and in the store. The projects in the book are a brilliant collection from a large variety of famous quilters and the books are signed. Come get one, before they are all sold out. From Moda, the most popular line ever, “French General”, will be printing a new line called “La Belle Fleur”. It is antique French fabric themed with rose reds, woad blues, pearl and Verde blues. The fabrics are soft colors with birds, florals and stripes, forty bolts in all, with lots of cut pieces (charms, layer cakes and jelly rolls) and a great project. Now, to my favorite fabric type, which is 1800’s.We have fabrics covering the whole century including pre Civil War Era reproductions which are slightly brighter than most people’s impression of 1800’s fabrics. Our newest post war prints, which tended towards the mourning prints, are blacks and clarets. We have a large selection of samples because most of our employees love to make them. We carry lots of appropriate patterns and books to reproduce your own authentic1800’s quilt reproduction.
We wish you and your family the warmest of holidays and a wonderful, quilty New Year…. Dawn, Elaine, Pat, Carol, Nicole, Pam, Jeannette, Diane, Donna, Sandy, Lindsay, Ellen, Patty, Debbie, Peggy, Nancy, Diane, and Daun.
