This month’s block is a Star and I’ve picked it in honor of Honesdale own Star on Irving Cliff! “Sew” let’s get stitching on your own Honesdale memory quilt. This quilt project can be scrappy using fabric from your own stash or you can decide on your own color palette. For instruction purposes I will list the fabrics as light, medium or dark.

SUPPLIES: 3 Fat Quarters of a coordinating light, medium and dark fabric DIRECTIONS: D = Light Fabric C & E = Medium Fabric A & B = Dark Fabric You will be making a 12” square and for that, you will need to cut: 4 – 4 ½” squares from fabric A (dark) 1 – 5 1/4” squares sub cut diagonally into 4 triangles from fabric B (dark) 2 – 5 1/4 ” squares sub cut diagonally twice into 8 triangles from fabric C (medium) 4 – 1 7/8 x 6 7/8” rectangles from fabric D (light) 1 – 3 3/8” square from fabric E (medium) *Please note this block utilizes Y-seam Piecing (fabric D to center square) Use a ¼ inch seam allowance
