Time  to  sign  up  for  fun  new  classes!    We  have  added  even  more  project  classes  to  this  schedule  to  help   you  get  your  Christmas  gifts  made.    We  also  have  four  new  Block  of  the  Month  programs  starting.     They  are  all  so  wonderful,  I  am  not  sure  how  you  will  pick  which  ones  to  do  (you  could  do  them  all!?).     Our  new  website  will  be  available  by  the  end  of  the  first  week  of  September.    We  think  you  will  like  its   new  clean  and  crisp  feel.    The  new  website  will  allow  you  to  see  new  items  as  they  are  added  to  the   computer  in  the  shop.    The  new  website  will  also  allow  you  to  sign  up  for  classes  online.    As  with   anything  new,  it  will  feel  different  as  first,  but  we  think  you  will  enjoy  it.     We  invite  you  to  come  join  the  fun  at  Fabric  Garden,     Jill,  Carol,  Carolyn,  Julie,  Linda,  Pam,  and  Sharin

Beginning Embroidery Many quilt patterns are now using hand embroidery in the designs. If you have never tried hand embroidery or have been away from it for years, this class will get you going. During this three week class, you will not only learn all the basic stitches, you will learn about preparing your fabrics, stabilizing your fabrics and about using various types of floss and perle cottons. Beginning Machine Quilting Veronica is going to teach you the basics of how to quilt with your sewing machine. The class will take the stress out of Beginning Machine Quilting. Bring your machine, take a breath and let's have fun! Veronica is well known on the west coast and quilts for many designers. She comes to us from the Mt. Dinner in the Garden What could be better than an evening of sewing and dinner that you didn’t have to cook or clean up? Join us for an enjoyable evening of sewing, dinner, dessert and prizes. Double Mitered Binding

Lone Star Quilt

The method of using one long binding strip and flipping at each corner often gives a less than wonderful looking corner. The double mitered binding technique will give you beautiful corners every time. Instructor: Carol Ann Santarosa Tuesday, October 7, December 2 11 am to 1 pm $15.00

This 58" x 58" Lone Star quilt is unbelievably easy. You will learn to use the QuiltSmart fusible foundation to make your star points and Peggy will show you how to put it together. Fat Quarter Swap

Morning Sew with Jill

Make a quilt from "Down Under" using this unique Australian pattern. It looks difficult to make but is amazingly easy. Instructions include directions for a lap, twin and queen size quilt. Learn to Quilt A basic beginning quilts class for those wanting to learn how to quilt. A quilt top will be made in this six-week program. The beginner will learn what notions and tools are needed, the names of quilt blocks, quilting terminology, how to cut and piece fabric accurately, how to use rulers, a rotary cutter, etc. It is everything you wanted to know about quilting and were afraid to ask. Let’s Get Past Stippling There is life after stippling. Veronica will show you the ease of free motion vines, swirls, flowers, stars, feathers and more with her no mark method of machine quilting. Mystery Quilt – Just for the Halibut DO NOT stop reading just because of the word "mystery". I know that some of you shy away when you see the word mystery, but trust us, mystery quilts are fun. This will be the fourth mystery quilt we have done at Fabric Garden and everyone who has taken these classes has been pleased with their finished quilt. Carolyn took this Debbie McCaffrey mystery from Debbie herself on a quilt cruise. When you sign up, you will get a fabric selection guide and cutting instructions, so that you will be ready to sew in class. Scrap Quilting Strip by Strip Join us to make a lovely strip-pieced quilt. Enjoy a relaxing Friday evening with a shared dinner and snack. You will make as many of these fun blocks as time allows. Merry Go Round Table Topper This cute table runner is fast and easy to make. In class you will learn how to cut hexagons and 60-degree triangles from strips, how to accurately sew 60-degree triangles and how to put binding on 120-degree corners. Travel Iron Tote If you take an iron to class or retreats, this is the pattern for you. There are three sizes: full size, travel, and mini travel. The mini travel size is too darned cute for words. The mini size fits the Steamfast Travel Iron, the world's smallest steam iron (a favorite of ours here at Fabric Garden). You can choose to make the size of your choice in class. CLUBS Clubs usually run the same day each month, but sometimes holidays or special events may change their schedule.

30’s Club Calling all lover’s of 30’s fabrics. This club is for you! This club is a place for lovers of 30's fabric to come together and sew projects using their favorite fabric. There will be "Show and Tell" of our love affair with our fabric and the sharing of ideas and patterns. Each meeting will feature a block that can be made. For those who are interested in being 30's angels, baby quilts will be made from 30's fabrics and donated to local charities. Knot-y Embroidery Ladies Club Join others who share your passion for hand embroidery. Each month Carolyn will share a new stitch with the club. Charm School Breakfast Club Charm Packs are so much fun! Forty-two wonderful squares of fabric to enjoy. Every other month we will make a cute small quilt from the book “Country Threads Goes to Charm School”. These quilts use a variety of techniques, one charm pack, and small amounts of background fabric. It is easy to enlarge these patterns just by using more charm squares. Breakfast and a charm lesson provided. Table Runner Breakfast Club Every other month you will make a fun table runner. These table runners go together quickly and make great seasonal pieces for your own home or great gifts for family or friends. Join us for breakfast, sewing and companionship. Twister Club Join the fun and twist with us. This fun quilting technique is easy and the quilts are great. A new project will be introduced each session. You are free to work on any twister project you want. We Gather Together (Primitive Applique) Primitive applique at it's best! This club is for everyone who loves primitive applique. This year the group will be working on Jan Patek’s “Christmas 101” and/or Minick & Simpson’s “Victory Girls”. This group encourages creativity, so you are welcome to pick your own project. There is lots of sharing of projects, ideas and techniques. All levels are welcome. You can join at any time. Wool Club Felted wool is wonderful to work with! It feels great, it is easy to work with and the projects have a wonderful richness to them. In this club, you have the choice of two different monthly wool projects to work on. We share project ideas with each other, discuss techniques for working with wool and enjoy the company of others who share our passions. BLOCKS OF THE MONTH

Saturday Sampler – Winter Fun Our new Saturday Sampler starts October 4, 2014. This winter-themed wall hanging will allow you to try out and learn several quilting techniques. How does a Saturday Sampler work? -Your sign up fee of $35.00 covers your pattern and your first kit. -Attend the demonstration at 10 am or 11 am with your completed block from the previous month and receive the next kit for FREE. -If you miss the demo or do not bring your completed block your next kit is $6.00. What does the quilt look like? We run this program in a mystery format. Now, don't let that deter you. We specially select the fabric for your kits to complement the pattern. We will tell you that the theme is winter and we will be using a lot of blues and some reds. Previous participants have been clamoring for us to run another Saturday Mystery. They loved that the quilt is not twelve square blocks that may never get made into a quilt. Each month we will make a section of the quilt and some months we will also put sections together. By the last month the center of your quilt will be assembled. We will have many options for your borders (not included in the price). Please join us for a year of fun and surprises!

Bertie’s Year All Blocks of the month are available to be shipped directly to your home or to be picked up in our shop. Follow Bertie's adventures through the year in this FUN Block of the Month from Bonnie Sullivan. Every month starting in September you will receive a pattern and the Woolies Flannel / Shadow Play Flannel to create a little quilt that measures 13" x 17". The kit also contains the binding and backing. Button and floss kits will be available for an additional charge. What are Woolies Flannels?? They look like wool, feel soft like wool, wash like cotton, but won't make you itch like wool can. Woolies flannels come in classic designs like herringbones, plaids, tweeds and dots in rich colors. This program starts in October 11, 2014. Registration Fee: $24.95 Monthly Kits : $28.00 per month FREE technique class on October 11 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm. Threads of Time Block of the Month Threads of Time is a beautiful vintage inspired quilt by Julie Hendrickson. The fabrics used in this quilt are classically designed shirtings and calicos. There are thirty-three saturated blue, green, pink and brown calico patterns accompanied by twelve natural shirting patterns. The inspiration for the fabric and the quilt came from personal vintage quilts in Julie's collection. This 72" x 88" quilt top features 8" blocks and flying geese. Each month for nine months you will make one easy-to-piece block in four different color ways and a portion of the flying geese used in the sashing. In the tenth month you will make the pieced border. Registration Fee is $24.95 Class Fee is $50.00 for ten classes. (No registration fee when you take class) Kits are $26.00 per month for 10 months. Discover life's pleasures with the "Simple Pleasures" Block of the Month by Bunny Hill Designs. This block of the month features twelve seasonal designs in a 44" x 50" quilt top. Your kits will contain all of the fabrics for the top and the binding. An embellishment kit is also included.

Did you miss your regularly scheduled Block of the Month? Join us on the second Thursday of each month to get the tips and tricks you missed and to work on your block. Instructor: Jill Dalton Free for those enrolled in BOM programs.

If  you  see  a  class  you  are  interested  in,   please  sign  up  early!  Classes  have  a   minimum  number  of  students  in  order  for  it   to  “go”.  By  waiting  too  long,  your  class  may   be  filled  or  you  may  have  been  the  one   person  needed  to  meet  the  minimum   enrollment.

Cancellation:  Cancellations  are  accepted  up  to  seven  days  in  advance  of   the  class  for  a  store  credit.  If  Fabric  Garden  cancels  a  class,  you  may  take   a  store  credit  or  a  refund.
