Shining Star-Gingerbread Trio Fall 2015 This beautiful 8-pointed star is the perfect gift for Christmas. In this class you will learn how to piece the 8-pointed star and how to set in triangles and squares, the well- known Y-seam. This class is for the more confident quilter. Most of the required items listed below are available at Sweet Darling Quilts you will receive a 10% discount. If you have any questions about any of these items, please give the store a call. REMINDER: Class Policies: Payment is required at the time of registration. Classes may be cancelled if the teacher minimum is not met. Refunds or credits will be given if a class is cancelled. If you are unable to attend a class and are not able to call seven days before the start of a class, you will be given a store credit only. If you cancel or don't show the day of class-THERE IS NO REFUND OR NO STORE CREDIT. We have had to compensate our teacher.

Gingerbread Trio – Shining Star

Notions:  Sewing machine in good working condition with a new size 80 or 90, universal or sharp needle and a filled bobbin. (You must know how to use your machine-I am not a mechanic and I am not familiar with the many brands of sewing machines on the market. If in doubt, bring your machine’s manual.)  Rotary cutter & mat  6” x 12” or long ruler w/45-degree line  ¼ inch piecing foot  General sewing supplies: scissors, fine sharp pins, seam ripper  Matching Thread  Corner Trimmer by Marti Michell  Fine Fabric pencil Fabric Requirements: For practice: Scraps of (2) 2 ¾” strips, (4) 3 ¾” squares, (1) 5 ¼” square cut twice on the diagonal. For project: Star: various light fabrics total 1/3 yd. various dark fabrics total 1/3 yd. Background: 1/3 yd. Border: ¼ yd. Binding: ¼ yd. Pre-class Preparation: Starch your fabric before cutting this will help to be more accurate Cut fabric according to pattern instructions Class Date: Part 1: Thursday, Sept. 8 10:00-4:00
