Squedge 18 Table Runner Winter 2016 Quilters love to learn new techniques and when the procedure creates a complex result from simple straight line stitching, it’s a winner. I know this table runner will look great on your table or make it for a gift to showcase your sewing skills. Most of the required items listed below are available at Sweet Darling Quilts and you will receive a 10% discount. If you have any questions about any of these items, please give the store a call. REMINDER: Class Policies: Payment is required at the time of registration. Classes may be cancelled if the teacher minimum is not met. Refunds or credits will be given if a class is cancelled. Note: This is a technique class so you may not finish the complete table runner! Bring some lunch! Ruler Required: Squedge 18 ruler with free pattern Notions:  Sewing machine in good working condition with a new size 80 or 90, universal or sharp needle and a filled bobbin. (You must know how to use your machine-I am not a mechanic and I am not familiar with the many brands of sewing machines on the market. If in doubt, bring your machine’s manual.)  Rotary cutter & mat  6” x 12” or longer ruler  ¼ inch piecing foot  General sewing supplies: scissors, fine sharp pins, seam ripper  Matching thread  Freezer paper and pencil Fabric Requirements:  

Seven fabrics are needed and free pattern lists yardage I would recommend 7/8 yard of Fabric E or read below note and cut carefully

Pre-class Preparation: Select fabric and cut strips as indicated in Squedge 18 cutting chart. NOTE – Fabric E, Cut one 16 ½” piece and one 24” piece out of each of the four 3 ¼” wide strips. DO NOT cut two 16 ½” pieces out of one 3 ¼” wide strip. Another option is to purchase 7/8 yard of Fabric E. Pin a small piece of paper labeling each stack of strips. The labels will eliminate confusion when sewing the strips together. Not required but I strongly recommend heavily starching fabric. I place fabric in a bowl and saturate it with undiluted Sta-Flo starch. (Sta-Flo starch can be purchased at Wal-Mart.) I squeeze out the excess starch and place on old beach towels until dry and then iron the fabric with stream. The fabric will be like paper and will be easy to cut and sew.
