! ! Synopsis With each new life chapter that begins we will inevitably find ourselves taking on new responsibilities and challenges. By the time we reach our 30s-40s it seems like every day is a constant stream of things to think about and tomorrows to consider, forgetting to live in the
here and now and embrace each moment to the fullest. This spot is all about making the decision to secure our futures so we can get back to living in the present, exploring our passions and sharing our lives with the very people we worry so much about protecting.

After beginning with a fast-paced montage and accompanying voiceover of all the little things we find ourselves worrying about, we will watch as our stars remember to take a moment to breathe and just enjoy life. As long as you have the right allies on your side the future can be assured and the present can be enjoyed.

Via a montage of beautiful and engaging imagery we will then see our stars out in the world and sharing their lives with their loved ones. We’ll see a couple of newlyweds on their road bikes enjoying a beautiful scenic bike ride. We’ll watch as a man in his early 30s walks with his Grandmother through an incredible nature conservatory taking in the sights. Finally, we’ll see a young family out boating on the wide, blue ocean, enjoying a sunny afternoon of laughter, love and fun.

This spot conveys the confidence that partnering with Protective Life Insurance provides to you, encouraging the audience to live in the now and take the time to enjoy themselves. After all, that is what life is all about!

We end our ad with a voiceover promoting this message of securing the future in order to enjoy today and the Protective Life Insurance product bumper and tagline, leaving the viewers at home with a call to action to embrace life themselves.

Beginning with a montage of all the little things we worry about, the ad transitions to a series of beautiful, glorious shots that show our stars out and living their lives, sharing their passions with the people they care about the most. In this way it will mirror the stresses we encounter when considering the unpredictable future and the relief we feel once we make the decision to do something about it.

Working in and around Vancouver, BC, North of Now has the ability to access a variety of diverse landscapes, allowing for us to capture some truly beautiful shots in order to tell our story, whether it be in the mountains, on the ocean or in the many beautiful parks the city has to offer.

About North Of Now North of Now (www.northofnow.ca) is a creative production agency based out of Vancouver, BC. Over the past two years we have specialized in creating digital advertising for numerous firms in a variety of fields. Specializing in both live action and animated projects, we pride ourselves on having fostered strong, lasting relationships with the companies we have partnered with, as well as the talented actors, animators, and production staff we have worked with in the process.

Tyler Funk is a Vancouver based director who graduated from UBC with a BFA in Film
Production in 2012. Since founding North of Now, he has directed ads for companies such as Coke, Ford, Procter & Gamble, Sears, Tech Deck, Bud light and more, garnering hundreds of thousands of views worldwide.

In addition to his advertising work, Tyler has shot several short films that have sold internationally, playing at dozens of international film festivals. His films have screened at festivals such as The Berlin Short Film Fest, Short Shorts Film and Asian, Whistler Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival and more. Tyler is currently developing his first feature film with development funds from Rogers Media.

James Gill has had his eye behind the camera since before he can remember. His
passion for cinematography started early, growing up surrounded by a family of fine artists that nurtured his love of art and creativity. His films have played in festivals in North America and Europe and won multiple awards including Best Student Film in BC at the Whistler Film Festival, a Leo Award for Best Student Film as well as a Leo nomination for Best Cinematography in a Short Film. James uses lighting, composition and camera movement together with his ability to see the whole story through in all the work he produces.
