Mrs.  Bogden  asked  me  to  remind  everyone  that  Kindergarten  has   violin  on  Thursdays  and  First  Grade  on  Fridays.    Please  send  in  their   violins  on  their  designated  day.

This week in Kindergarten

Math: Finish up addition to 8 and begin subtraction. Reading: Can Celery Sip? Meet Our Flag, Old Glory. Conventions: Verbs that add - s Listening and Speaking: sequence Writing: Persuasive Statement Comprehension Skill: Cause and Effect S.T.E.M.: Energy - wind energy – make pinwheel.

This week in First Grade

Math: Place Value – Greater Than and Less Than Reading: We will be reading short stories (A Clever Trick) and (A Sweet Home) and focusing on comprehension skills (sequencing and beginning, middle and end.) Conventions: Proper Nouns Writing – Poem – Organization Phonics - Contractions S.T.E.M.: Energy – wind

Primary 1 is making every effort to keep everyone well. We are wiping down tables often, cleaning doorknobs, reminding students to cover their coughs and sneezes, and washing our hands often. Please don’t feel obligated, but if you can send in a container of Clorox/Lysol wipes with your child that would be great. Tomorrow we will distribute our Valentine’s Day cards to our beautifully decorated mailboxes your child made. Please send in your Valentine’s Day cards. Below are the names of all the students in our class: Please make a valentine for each student. Alda, Andrew, Bennett, Charlotte, Dakota, Dougie, Henley, Jayce, Joey, Lucas, Matthew, Maya, Rodrigo, Shaine, Shane, Sophia, Victoria, Violetta. We will celebrate the 100th Day of School on February 14th. On this day we will celebrate 100 in small centers all day.

Message:        Lulu  went  home  with  Dakota  on  Friday.    They  baked  delicious  cupcakes  for  Dakota’s  birthday   today.     Lulu  will  stay  with  Mrs. Schoenstein over vacation and looks forward to visiting another student’s home after

mid winter break.
