Report to the 2017 ELCA Southeastern Synod Assembly Ms. Carolyn Nottingham Davis Executive Assistant to the Bishop and Communications Support Specialist As the Executive Assistant to the Bishop and Communications Support Specialist, this past year I contributed to the work of the synod staff as follows:  Managed calendar, incoming calls, mail, and travel arrangements for Bishop Gordy.  Published periodic E-news, special event E-news, blogs, ordination and installation invitations, obituaries and Prayers Please as needed.  Updated and maintained the synod website.  Fostered social networking primarily via Facebook.  Maintained the synod database, as well as provided notification to church-wide; i.e., address changes, changes in rostered status, etc.  Established audio/video conference calls and lodging as needed for staff members, ministry teams, candidacy, synod council and visitors to the synod office.  Served as the synod contact for logistics related to the 2016 Churchwide Assembly.  Assisted in the planning and logistics for the 2016 Leadership Convocation and the 2017 Synod Assembly.  Served as the synod liaison to the Women of the ELCA, to include attending Synod Cluster meetings and the 2016 Southeastern Synod WELCA Convention, where I served as a Convention Co-Chair.  Provided training to expand the proficiency of synod staff volunteers. As always, I am extremely thankful for the time and talent offerings our synod volunteers.
