Report to the 2017 ELCA Southeastern Synod Assembly Ms. Holly Liersch Office Manger I am so thankful to be working in the Southeastern Synod to continue my call as office manager. The synod staff, synod members and synod volunteers have blessed me for seventeen years. Listed below are a few of my recent duties. 1. Mission Investment Fund Synod Financial Systems Pilot Program (MIF SFS). 2. MIF SFS Accounts Payable Pilot within a pilot. 3. Financial filing, electronic and hard copies. 4. Office move to St. John’s, Atlanta. 5. Researching temporary office space since we must move out of our current office space by September 30, 2017, about six months before our new St. John’s office suite will be ready. 6. Researching temporary storage space. 7. Troutman-Gordy Atrium/Living Lutheran Legacy appeal 8. Finding movers to move us to a temporary space then to the final space at St. John’s. 9. I am researching telephone systems that will fit the synod mobile needs. 10. Synod Assembly registration. 11. Synod Assembly office set up. 12. I write and send thank you/tax acknowledgment letters to individuals who give gifts directly to the synod. 13. I oversee the office function and budget. 14. Coordinate and prepare as needed synod wide USPS mailings. 15. I purchase and maintain inventory of office supplies. 16. Coordinate the acquisition and maintenance of office equipment. 17. I process time reports and maintain hourly office administrative staff time sheets. 18. I work with our IT contractor on computer issues. 19. Coordinate cleaning out files and packing for storage and/or archiving. We have been notified that the Mission Investment Fund’s three year Synod Financial Services pilot program will be ending at the end of two years on January 31, 2018. I will continue to do my best to provide administrative support to the members of the staff and synod during the challenges and opportunities before us in 2017 and 2018.
