Rescheduling of Games Due to Weather Under certain circumstances weather can make it necessary to reschedule a game. Here are several points to remember about games that are rescheduled due to the weather:  

  

Only Head Coaches will be contacted by a Board Member if their game is cancelled. If you don’t get a call, then assume the games are still on. DO NOT call any Board Member to see if games are cancelled. Only the Board Members on duty know the status with the responsible for calling any games. They have jobs and don’t know the field conditions until they reach the fields as well. Head Coaches should let their families know that they will be contacted by a team coach if the games are cancelled. Many teams set up phone trees to spread the word quicker and it doesn’t fall on the Head Coach to make all the calls. Do not make any assumptions that games will be cancelled due to weather. Rain in one part of town does not mean rain at the Tee-Ball Fields. On Saturdays, decisions to postpone games are made on a game-to-game basis. The Board Members do everything possible to get in as many games a possible on the weekends. Which means if the 9am games are cancelled, the 11am games might still be played. Also, games might be played on 2 of the fields while the other 2 fields are cancelled. Rescheduled games will be posted on the website with the new game date and times when the webmaster can post the new schedule.

Rescheduling a Game (Coach’s Request) If the Head Coach feels it is necessary to reschedule a game, he must first contact the opposing coach who must agree to reschedule the game. The opposing coach is not required to agree to a reschedule, but in the “spirit of the league” we ask that each team makes an honest effort to agree to a reschedule request. Do not contact Game Operations Board Member until first getting agreement from the opposing coach. 

Once the opposing coach has agreed to the reschedule, contact the Game Operations Board Member. He will then reschedule the game and have the new date/time posted to the Tee-Ball website. He will not call the coaches personally to inform them of the new date/time, however if you provide e-mail addresses for both coaches an e-mail will be sent with the new date/time. Do not request to reschedule a game on the same day or a day before the game. Rescheduling of games at a coach’s request covers situations where the head coach knows in advance that they will not be able to field a team. Normally at least 10 days before the game is scheduled to be played. Head Coach out of town does not constitute a valid reason for a reschedule request. Any certified assistant coach can coach a team. Legitimate reasons for a coach to request a game be rescheduled include advance knowledge of the inability to field the minimum number of players or lack of a certified coach to run the game. Rescheduling of games due to weather takes precedence over coaches’ requests to reschedule games. It may not be possible to honor a coach’s request to reschedule a game if, late in the season, available slots for make-up games are needed to hold potential weather-related make-up games.
