Restore Week 1 - SOE God Bible Reading

WEEK 1 - GOD

Since the beginning of time God has desired to be the focus of his people and to be in a continual relationship with them. The Story of Everything is the story of God’s constant love for and pursuit of his people. In the Old Testament God’s pursuit of mankind was demonstrated through his relationship with the Israelites. Although they were unfaithful to him, he never gave up on them. In the New Testament, God invites all the people of the world to be in relationship with him through his son Jesus. This week you will read over and over again examples and stories of how God has pursued mankind since creation.

DAY 2

In this passage Jerusalem and Zion are both place names that represent the Israelite people whom God is pursuing. Notice Chapter 65, vs.1 “….to a nation that did not call on my name, I said, ‘Here am I, here am I’ Isaiah gives us a word picture of God here that is reminiscent of a child lost in a crowd jumping up and down trying to get his parent’s attention. This is how God tries to get the attention of his people. READ Isaiah 62-65
