Basic Steps to Reverse Transfer 1. Identify potential students from Bachelor Institution 2. Transfer data to Associate Awarding Institution 3. Associate Awarding Institution notifies students of potential eligibility 4. Students request transcripts to be sent to Awarding Institution 5. Degree Audit conducted by Awarding Institution 6. Associate Degree Awarded to student
Accomplishments • Franklin developed data reporting to meet defined parameters – CSCC hours to meet residency requirements (31+) – Total hours to meet associate-level requirements (60+) – Attended Franklin at least one term during past year (11-12)
• Compiled first run of potential reverse-transfer • Students can request transcripts from Franklin • Franklin can send official transcripts electronically to any institution

Ohio’s Credit When It’s Due Initiative • • • • •
Increase completion of associate degrees through reverse transfer awards Goal: 1300 associate degree awards National initiative led by Lumina Foundation, Kresge Foundation, and other funders. 23 Ohio community colleges, 13 public universities (main campuses), 5 regional campuses Grant period: October 2012- September 2014

• Enrolled in a participating university; 45 college level credits in USO ; 20 college level credits at a participating 2 yr. college • No bachelor’s or associate on record • Pursuing a bachelor’s with a min. university GPA of 2.0 • Pool size reduced after screens for recent degrees, financial holds and receipt of FERPA waivers. • No more than a 20 credit residency requirement • Institutional choice for which degrees to evaluate • Waive traditional petition to graduate process
• Associate Degrees including Arts, Science, Technical Studies, Applied Business, etc. • No graduation fee for award only. • 597 total degrees, 594 unique individuals; 3 additional certificate awards
