Step 1 — Shell

 Before disassembly, make sure that the device is unplugged. 

Unscrew the two 17.83 mm black screws located on the handle.



Separate the shell from the main component.



Make sure that the each piece is free from debris.

Continue to pull the components apart.

 For reassembly, put the silver encasing on before the the black cover. Step 4 — Heating Element

The heating element is the group of tightly coiled bronze wires behind the vent hose as well as the silver coils.



Make sure that there are no breaks or debris obstructing the wires of the heating element.

Step 5 

To test the heating element, use a digital multimeter.



Set the multimeter to 200 under ACV.



Bring the ends of the multimeter toward the two lead wires.



If the circuit between the wires is closed, the numbers on the multimeter should keep changing.



If the numbers are not changing, replace the heating element.



If the circuit is closed, check the thermal cutout.
