Question from Dale Stacks (Lusardi Construction) at 06:30 PM on 07/20/2016 Randy, Please use the attached images and as-built drawings for reference. Paul Ramsey has already reached out to you regarding this issue, and this RFI is being generated to track the issue. Please review and address the below comments from Paul. Plan / Reference: 1. P-3.1 Detail A - Keynote 4 refers to Sheet P-2.0 B 2. P-2.0 B – Keynote 6 & Plan refers to and shows piping configuration and routing. Sheet P-2.1 shows continuation of piping 3. P-2.1 – Keynotes 41 & 42 and plan show piping running through Storage Room. Sheet P-2.2 referenced as continuation of plan. 4. P-2.2 – Keynotes 32 & 33 show piping termination at Courtyard deck 5. As built drawings attached Request: 1. Regarding your previous response: Does this flue pipe actually require a 2 hour shaft? Can you check the code on this one? 2. We can rate a shaft in the corridor at the original location up to the framed and dry-walled ceiling on the first floor only. We then run horizontally above the hard lid in that corridor , which is not rated, and then out to the garage and up to the 2nd floor courtyard. This is the condition as built. (See Attached photos and marked up asbuilt drawings) 3. Prior to the plan change we sleeved the 1st floor slab prior to the pour for the 5 ea. flue pipes. If we have to move these flue pipes it will require 15 ea. additional cores through 1st floor slab, P-1 WH room masonry walls, and 1st floor storage room walls.

RFI #603 All Replies: Response from Dale Stacks (Lusardi Construction) at 09:40 AM on 08/19/2016 See follow up from Martin and Paul R. Please Review. "Attached is an iso of the longest run for the water heater flue pipes for review. MV Plumbing has accomplished some reconfiguration to make this work and conform to the installation requirements. The other 4 runs are shorter in overall distance and 2 of those have 1ea. 45 degree fitting less than the attached iso drawing." Thank You, Dale Stacks LCC Attachments: WH Vents.pdf

Response from John Walsh (Lusardi Construction) at 08:55 AM on 08/03/2016 Randy, We have taken a field measurement of all the water heater vent piping and it varies from 92' to 88', the line that have 88' have the equivalent of 6 90 degrees elbows and their is two lines with 5.5 elbows and 2 with 4.5 elbows. The 90 degree elbow at the outlet of the water heater and the vent termination fittings should not be part of the count as per my conversation with the factory technical support person. If you deduct fittings from the maximum allowed of 6 90 degree elbows at 90' of piping then you can increase the length of piping at 2.5' for a 45 degree elbow and 5' for a 90 degree elbow. See table in email attached. Thanks, John Walsh LCC

Good morning: We have no problem with the current sketch…the routing is 89 feet (90 feet allowed) and the equivalent to 5.5 90°elbows (7 90°elbows allowed) which is consistent with the flue standards for the manufacturer. Regards,

Hi Steve, Please review the attached follow-up to RFI #603, and return your response to me sometime today if possible. This is the same diagram that I forwarded to you unofficially yesterday. This is a very hot issue, so whatever you can do to get me quick response would be appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Randolph M. Itaya, AIA Associate Executive Architect
