VI. CEO’s Report · PSSA Update – Call on Jennifer Donohue o RAPCS has concluded the PSSA exams for the 2016 -2017 school year and currently in the process of conducting makeup tests. Approximately 60% (a conservative estimate) more students than last year completed open-ended questions for the literacy section. Sections 6-4 and 6-5 completed two pages in the open-ended sections. In addition to the results from the 2015-2016 school year, approximately 10% less student’s books were marked as “Do Not Score”. o The proctors noticed the fifth-grade students using the Unravel technique. There was a small concern regarding the eighth- grade students were going to protest by not taking the math portion. · Special Education – Call on Renee Brooks a. Summer School: Starting on July 11th (concluding on August 3rd) the RAPCS team will lead the Establish School Year Program (ESY) for IEP students, 3-Days from 9am to 1pm (teachers from 8:30am to 1:30pm). Throughout the school year the executive team, here at RAPCS, monitors the progress of each student and benchmarks for special education students. The ESY program allows IEP students to reach said benchmark and help enhanced their skill set for the upcoming year. VII.

a. Renewal Update: While RAPCS has not received any additional information from the SDP, there have been major renewal occurrences that will have and will continue to impact RAPCS. First, the SDP announced that twenty-one charter schools would be recommended for five (5) year renewals, two charters (Memphis Academy and Laboratory) being recommended for nonrenewal and three (including RAPCS) are pending. The pending status gave the appearance that RAPCs was in danger of being non-renewed. As this information was highly publicized, I felt it prudent to provide the staff with as much information as possible. Since there have been no new updates for SDP, I explained to the staff what the worse possible scenario (nonrenewal) would be for the school. Timeframes and what to expect in that event were discussed. I did this to ensure that the any staff member submitting an intent to return had all facts and the ability to change their decision to leave, if they felt it wise to do so. IX.
