Year 6 Visit to Plas Dol-y-Moch Forty children and five staff spent a glorious week taking part in a challenging program of activities at Dol Y Moch designed to promote teamwork, enhance the development of personal and social skills and to allow them to appreciate a contrasting locality. The amazing activities included: canoeing, kayaking, gorge walking, abseiling, climbing, mountain walking and discovering the creatures that live on the coast. Everybody involved had a brilliant time and the Dol-y-Moch staff were impressed by the attitude and behaviour of the children - they were superb ambassadors for Richard Lee!
Year 6 STEM Workshop Y6 thoroughly enjoyed an exciting morning of fun and challenging games, prepared and hosted by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Club students at Caludon Castle School. The theme was Dinosaurs and the children enthusiastically commented: "I had never realised that there were so many different dinosaurs!"; "It was an incredible opportunity to learn new games, solve problems and meet Caludon students!"; “I loved the fierce competition!” and "I learned new skills that could help me in the future!”
Save the Children Year 4 have been learning about charities and work that they are involved in. We had a visitor, Mrs Wells from Save the Children. She told us about how our money would be used after we had raised £652.22 for the Nepal earthquake appeal. Thank you to everyone who sent in their donations toward the appeal
Sports Coaching On Friday 12th June Elite sports coaching company came in to deliver some outdoor adventurous activities. They came in and delivered archery and an obstacle course which the children really enjoyed!
Tennis Tournament On Wednesday 10th June we took our year 5/6 tennis finalist to the memorial park. They competed against four other schools, playing some very competitive tennis. Overall, the team have come third in the whole of Coventry! Well done to Lauren for winning all her games and barely dropping a point.
Quadkids On Thursday 11th June we took 23 children from across year three and four to Wyken Croft to participate in a Quadkids Tournament. All the children participating in the competition took part in four events, a 50m sprint, a long jump, the howler and 400m long distance run. There was an excellent display of talent, particularly in the howler with many of the children throwing further than the tape could measure. Overall we came second by 18 points with a massive score of 1591 points. A special mention goes to Callum for being the highest scoring boy for our team with 213 points; as well as Tayla and Bobbi May who scored 199 points who were the highest scoring girls in the whole competition! Well done all! Diary Dates Date 18th and 19th June 24th, 25th and 26th June 8th July 10th July 10th July 10th July 15th July 4th September
