Location and Situation Riverside Caravan Park is located in the historic market town of Worksop, occupying an area of land behind Worksop Cricket and Sports Club. The park is just 0.2 miles from the main shopping street with a host of shops, restaurants, public houses amongst other public amenities. The property is conveniently located for the surrounding area - Sheffield being 19.4 miles, Newark 25 miles, Nottingham 28.5 miles and Derby 38 miles distant. (All distances are approximate) The park is bordered to the north by Chesterfield Canal and Sand Hill Lake both of which are good sources of fishing. The southern boundary borders the River Ryton and on the eastern boundary is Worksop Cricket and Sports Club. Access to the property is via Central Avenue, which also leads to Worksop’s main shopping street. The entrance is shared by Worksop Cricket and Sports Club and the tarmac roadway leads past the main leisure building to the car park at the rear. Local attractions include the sports club, which the caravan park residents are permitted to use, Worksop town centre. Clumber Park (the former Duke of Newcastle’s Estate), Sherwood Forest and Creswell Craggs amongst other attractions. Description The touring caravan park is a haven within the centre of Worksop and is attractive in layout benefitting from a good deal of mature landscaping and tree planting. The site is approached via tarmac entrance road leading to visitor parking, late arrivals pitch and an electronic security barrier. The internal circular site roads are of tarmac or gravel around the site and provide access to all pitches.
Site Buildings The Park Home The residential twin unit is located opposite to the entrance of the touring park. The accommodation briefly comprises: Entrance hall, open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, 2 bedrooms and a family bathroom. Reception: a timber conservatory extension to the front elevation of the park home with counter service. Toilet Block A purpose built brick building under a flat roof, with garage and disused reception (currently storage). The toilet block comprises: Gents: 3 No toilets, 4 No wash hand basins 2 No coin operated showers, a large urinal trough and a hand dryer Ladies: 5 No toilets, 4 No wash hand basins, 3 No coin operated showers, and a hand dryer. Dishwashing area and chemical disposal point. The Old Tennis Pavilion: this building is currently used for storage with a lean-to open fronted store.
The Caravan Park The park has been developed to a good standard with attractive landscaping and mature planting. There are 52 hard-standing pitches to include the late arrivals area and 8 grass pitches all with electric hookup points. At the time of our inspection there were 20 seasonal pitches paying a monthly pitch fee and the remainder of the pitches are used on a “per night” basis. Many of the pitches are well spaced out and have shrubbery screening to provide them with an element of privacy. The Site Licence period is 12 months with no stay limitations.
