BROADCAST DETAILS

HIGHLANDER TRENDS
♦ Radford (5-1) has won five straight games after an opening game loss in extra innings. The Highlanders swept previously unbeaten Kennesaw State in a three-game series on the road this past weekend. The 5-1 start ties the 2013 team with the 1997 and 1993 Highlander squads for the second-best start in school history. The 2008 team began its season 6-1, and with a win against the Hokies, this year’s club can match the best start in school history. ♦ Radford was 21-10 last year when it scored first. The Highlanders are 5-0 this season. ♦ RU is 5-1 on the road this season. RU was 10-17 in true road games last season. ♦ RU set a Big South record last year with a .978 team fielding percentage. ♦ The Highlanders stole 13 of 18 bases attempted in their first two opening series. ♦ Josh Reavis drove in a career-high four runs in the third game of the JU series. ♦ Michael Costello has four saves through six games this season. He is 4 for 4 in save opportunities.
PRESEASON NOD
♦ Radford senior shortstop Jeff Kemp was named co-Big South Conference Preseason Player of the Year. ♦ The Highlanders were picked to finish fourth in the Big South North Division.
