Elk River Youth Hockey Association Program Sponsorship Our Mission Our association seeks to provide a community and volunteer-driven program to promote the growth and development of all of our players. Our association works to promote a fun, fair and safe environment that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence.
Our Story Ever since 1966, Elk River Youth Hockey Association has been the “Home Rink” for countless young families from Elk River, Otsego, Princeton and Zimmerman. It is a place where the youth in our communities will cultivate lifelong friendships, learn life skills like sportsmanship, fair play, and camaraderie, all while developing a love for a sport can play forever. A couple of recent Program Highlights:
In 2012-2013, Elk River’s Youth Hockey’s Mite program was ranked 2nd in the district for program excellence and level of participation.
In 2013-2014, Elk River’s Hockey Programs were honored by the Minnesota Wild, Fox Sports and USA Hockey for ongoing excellence by being awarded the Hockey Day Minnesota event to be hosted on January 18th, 2014.
In 2011-2012, Elk River’s Youth Hockey’s Mite program was ranked #1 in the district for program excellence and level of participation.
In 2011-2012, our S.K.A.T.E. (Skaters Keep Achieving Through Education) student athlete program for high academic achievers had over 500 members.
How you can help As with many non-profit programs, our organization counts on the contributions of tireless volunteers to make things happen and get things done. This includes parents, partners, friends and neighbors who contribute by helping to coach teams, referee, coordinate icetimes schedules, manage events, and many other program activities. As a partner of Elk River Youth Hockey, you will set your organization apart by aligning with an organization that is focused on delivering excellence in youth sports, repeatedly singled out for its high participation levels and the overall quality of its programs. Your contribution will help over 800 kids continue to participate in the sport of hockey in the 2012-2013 season. Your services will gain visibility to families in our community through our new website (www.elkriverhockey.com), as well as our annual showcase yearbook.
