SAMANTHA RODRIGUEZ GRADUATING YEAR: 2019 My name is Samantha Rodriguez, and I am a sophomore at Slam Miami High School in Miami, Florida. I have been playing volleyball for about five years. I went into the sport liking it, but not knowing much about it. It was a tough start learning rotations, footwork, body positioning, but with hard work and a lot of self-motivation, I have learned to love volleyball. After the first year of playing volleyball for my school’s JV team, I was moved up to play for the Varsity team. This was a great accomplishment for me. Short after that I was made team Captain and have continued to keep that role. During my freshman year, I helped my team in winning first place at the Key West Volleyball Tournament against the top teams in the area. That same year my hard work and dedication was rewarded as I was given the MVP award. This was another great accomplishment for me. Also, I have received an Honorable mention in the Miami Herald for three consecutive years. Playing a sport while going to school takes strong commitment. I have stayed on top of my school work in order to always be allowed to play the game I love. I have challenged myself by taking Honor and AP Courses, because I think it’s important to always improve one’s self. I envision my college years to help me with personal growth, and I know that I can be a very good fit for your school and team. I plan to continue to be a dynamic player and always strive to be a positive influence and an asset to the team. I come from a very hard working family and I have learned that being a committed and a hard working person will help me accomplish my goals. My character and my background has been built on respect, and I know that I can always conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the court. I am interested in attending a College or University where I can study a Sports Medicine related major. I am currently enrolled in the Sports Medicine Academy at my high school. My current goal is to apply what I have learned not only in school, but also at home to accomplish getting a chance to attend a University and team where I can continue playing volleyball. Thank you for taking the time to review my volleyball resume. Please feel free to contact me or my volleyball coaches with the information provided on the next page.
Thank you, Samantha Rodriguez
