The rest of the bedrooms offer great space and more period features with the fourth bedroom situated at the front of the property having doors that lead out onto a private balcony. On the second floor, there is the benefit of a large ‘L’ shaped loft room, it has two Velux windows, a large radiator and storage space in the eaves so could very easily be used as a fifth bedroom should you wish. Externally, there is a professionally landscaped garden mainly laid to lawn, with patio area and flower beds ready for a planned planting scheme which can be obtained from the current owners. At the rear of the garden is a large shed, wood store area and the stunning home office which has bi-folding doors, spotlights, electric heating and power with its very own separate phone line and high speed broadband. The historic town of Sandwich is only a short walk away offering shops, restaurants, train station and the Quayside. Sandwich also benefits from two world class golf courses at Royal St Georges and Princes golf clubs plus local primary and secondary schools including the Sir Roger Manwood's school.
Our Time Here The unique Edwardian façade first attracted us to the property. We had driven past Waverley many times over the years, and had always commented on what an attractive house it was. The location and setting was also a massive draw. Located just outside the hustle and bustle of inner sandwich, though just a short walk into the centre of town. Our favourite room has to be the elegant master bedroom and en-suite bathroom for the beautiful cornicing, the light and airy feel and the pure luxury of the bathroom. For us, being parents of a 4 year old, we also really like the spacious garden and country feel with the closeness to all the facilities that Sandwich town offers. The Quay park area is just across the road with a super play area that our little boy loves. We really enjoy the sense of caring community in Sandwich, the medieval history here is quite unique, and the town offers all the modern-day conveniences that we all expect. There are fabulous countryside and river walks within 5 minutes of walking out of the front door. The Sandwich Tennis courts are directly opposite, which provide a lovely outlook from the front of the house. Manwood Grammar School is an easy walk from the house and all the local schools have a good reputation for excellence. Sandwich has a vibrant community with lots of festivals in the summer such as Le French Weekend and the three-day Sandwich Festival. The Arts Week is growing in popularity and the switching on of the Christmas Lights in December brings the whole population out to celebrate. This was to be our forever house so we spent a long time choosing talented crafts people to help us restore the house and layout the professionally designed garden. We had hoped to enjoy the property for many years to come, and it is with great sadness that we are leaving Sandwich due to work commitments. We are hoping to hand the house over to new owners who will love it as much as we do.
