St. Dunstan’s Thanksgiving Mass Wednesday, November 23rd at 7:00 pm Join  us  for  our  next  Teen  Mass    Sunday,  December  11th  at  5:00  pm.     All  are  welcome!   VOLUNTEER CHRISTM AS RECEPTION INVITATION All volunteers and their spouses/guests are cordially invited to our annual Christmas Reception on Friday, December 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the church hall. If you are a volunteer on any of St. Dunstan’s committees or ministries, we would like to acknowledge you at this reception. Individual invitations will not be mailed. Comedy Night a Roaring Success! Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday night at Comedy Night to benefit our Mission Trips of 2012! We raised about $11,000 through ticket sales and a silent auction! Thank you to everyone who donated or bid on items, helped with setup or cleanup and everyone who came out and laughed with us! We are grateful for your generosity!

CHRISTMAS COOKIE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS AND BAKERS ARE NEEDED Attention  all  cookie  lovers:    The  annual  Cookie  Festival  to     benefit  the  mission  trips  will  be  December  10     in  the  church  hall  from  9:00-­‐1:00.   We  need  lots  of  bakers  to  make  this  a  success.    Make  your   favorite  special  holiday  treat  and  drop  it  off  at  the  church  on   Friday,  Dec.  9  between  5:00-­‐7:00  pm.   Any  adults  who  would  like  to  volunteer  to  help  at  the  cookie   festival,  please  call  Kathy  Gerber:    860-­‐657-­‐3623.  

Advent candles w ill be sold after all M asses this w eekend. The cost is $5 per box. ADVENT JOURNEY INTO CATHOLICISM 2011 Our own Deacon Ron Daigle will conduct the Advent Journey into Catholicism (Wednesday evenings) from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in Fr. Bannon Hall, November 30, December 7, 14 and 21. Deacon Ron will explore some Advent themes in the new series of Catholicism by Robert Barron, a priest and theologian. We will consider how the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons provide new opportunities to examine our Catholic faith and its modern relevance in our world today. These sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate the anticipation of the Advent season—please join us!

QUILT SALE Denise Weeks’ Quilting for Causes will be offering quilts for sale after all Masses November 26th and 27th with proceeds to benefit the Hartford Catholic Worker youth programs. Warm someone’s heart this Christmas with a special quilt, and your own heart, by contributing to these worthwhile programs.

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE

Beginning November 19th, a Christmas Giving Tree will be located inside the entrance of the church with ornaments listing practical gifts that are needed by St. Michael’s Church located in the north end of Hartford. Please take an ornament and bring your unwrapped present to the back of the church before Mass on December 10th or 11th. Please attach the tree ornament to your present. Presents must be received no later than 12:30 p.m. on December 11th for timely delivery. On Thursday, December 1st, Fr. Henry Frascadore presents an Advent Evening of Reflection from 7:00–9:00 pm. December 2nd-4th join us for A Spiritual Weekend for Women in Recovery. On Wednesday, December 7th from 6:30-9:00 pm learn Iris Folding, a fun and exciting way to make beautiful greeting cards and/or framed art. Thursday, December 8th Marguerite Janelle will present Mary’s Advent Journey (9:00 am-1:00 pm, including lunch and Mass, or 7:00-9:00 pm). Come to the quiet for less than 24 hours, and return to your holiday preparations with new clarity and anticipation for the birth of our Savior, Jesus.
