NEWSLETTER: May 2016 No. 2 Emailing School If you need to email school for any reason next week please can you send the email to [email protected] as the school office email will not be available. After the half term holiday the email address will be operating as usual. School Expansion – Public Consultation Just a reminder that there will be a public consultation event on the afternoon of Tuesday 24th May between 3.30pm and 6.30pm in the Sawtry Infant School hall (please note the change of venue). Do come along to ask questions and view the plans. Gardening Club We have vacancies for our gardening club after half term. It will be harvesting time – the most exciting bit as you get to take the veggies home! If you want to secure a place please see us at the school office. Supervision of Pupils in the Car park On Wednesday we had 2 serious near misses in the car park after school. Both of these were due to parents not supervising their children. The cars in question were both authorised visitors and the drivers were understandably shaken. Please be aware that the school car park is not a suitable play area and children must be supervised at all times. Spring Fair Our Spring Fair is on Friday 27th May from 2.00pm – 3.30pm. School will close early on that day. Children should be collected at 1.45pm and then taken round to the front entrance. School will reopen at 2.00pm so you can enjoy the fair with your child. Most parents and children enjoy going around the fair together. However if you are unable to collect your child due to work commitments, please inform us in advance and we will do our best to make alternative arrangements. We are very short of donations for the Beer Glass tombola – a favourite last year. If you are able to donate it would be much appreciated. We are also request cake donations for our 1940’s vintage tea room.
Country Dancers The Sawtry Infant Country Dancers are appearing at the fair and the Sawtry Carnival. Dancers will need pale blue T shirts and white shorts. If you are having difficulty sourcing these please see Mrs Barr so she can sign post you. Phonic Tests The year 1 phonic tests will take place in the week of June 13th. Please try to ensure that your child is in school that week and avoid making any medical appointments. Snacks Please can you limit break time snacks to a piece of fruit or a plain biscuit and piece of cheese.
