School Report Cards What are the School and District Report Cards? As part of the state accountability system, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) produces report cards for every publicly funded school and district in Wisconsin. These Accountability Report Cards include data on multiple indicators for multiple years across four Priority Areas (Student Achievement, Growth, Closing Gaps, and On-track and Post-secondary Success). In addition, given the impact on student success, the Accountability Report Cards also measure chronic absenteeism and dropout rates. A school or district's Overall Accountability Score places the school/district into one of five Overall Accountability Ratings:

For more detailed information about the creation and scoring for the report cards, see the Accountability Resources page.

What resources are available that explain the School Report Card? In order to assist with building understanding and communicating about the School Report Cards, DPI has a number of resources available. Please see the Accountability Resources page, which is organized by year of accountability, for prior resources. Further details on Wisconsin’s accountability system is available on the accountability web page.

Who can I contact with other report card questions? DPI is committed to ongoing review of the school and district accountability system and your input is welcome ([email protected]). Questions and comments about the accountability report cards may be sent to [email protected].
