Jr High School Golf Program Informational Meeting Thursday August 10th, 2017 6:30 PM SPA Library When: Jr High School golf will conduct player assessments on August 14th at 4pm at McDowell Mountain GC. If necessary Jr High School golf tryouts will be on August 16th and 17th. Once the team is in place we will generally meet 3 times a week for 2 hours per day starting at 4pm. Where: The Golf team will use two golf courses for their tryouts and practices: The McDowell Mountain Golf Club and Paradise Valley Park Golf Club. Who: The Jr High School Golf Team will be comprised of SPA students in 5th thru 8th grade. The team is open to both boys and girls that are golf course ready and capable of playing 9 holes in a head to head, fun, yet competitive stroke play format. Players will also walk and carry their golf bag for 9 holes, up to 3 days a week. How: Player assessments will take place on 8/14 starting at 4pm at McDowell Mountain Golf Club. McDowell Mountain is located at 10690 E. Sheena Drive Scottsdale, AZ 85255. The team will consist of 8-10 students and if necessary tryout rounds will be 8/16 and 8/17. All players trying out for the team will be responsible for paying a $5.00 per round green fee. Cost: The standard athletic fee will apply to all Jr. High School Golf Team and Instructional Golf participants. Who will we play? Our matches will be scheduled at various venues around the valley against other Great Hearts Academies along with Rancho Solano and Phoenix Country Day School.
