Dear Friends, School is back in session, the weather has cooled down a bit, rain is on the way- life is good! It's time to start thinking about your fall sewing projects. We are busy planning lots of classes and events for you over the next weeks and months so be sure to read all about it in this newsletter. Thanks to all who attended our Christmas in July Sale on the 27th and 28th. I hope all you new owners are enjoying your machines and signing up for your Mastery classes. We’re looking forward to getting to know you and teach you all about your new "baby"! Check out the dates in this newsletter for the classes you need and call us soon as possible since they do tend to fill up quickly. Fay and I enjoyed our time at BERNINA University in Washington DC July 8th- 11th and in Nashville for Brother B2B July 30th- August 1st. We were introduced to some fabulous machines, software and other new items that BERNINA and Brother are coming out with in the upcoming weeks. We have more information about these exciting products in the pages of this newsletter and, of course, we will be sending out emails when they arrive so you can experience them “up close and personal”! We welcome all of our new customers who have come to us as a result of our Groupon promotion in June. We are so glad to have you and hope you enjoy your classes. We hope this will be the start of a new interest and maybe even a new "obsession" for you! I thoroughly enjoyed judging wearing apparel for the Kentucky State Fair this year. Smocking Shoppe staffers Mary Bauer and Gordon Vogt as well as several of our favorite customers were there assisting the quilt judges. Congratulations to all of you who entered your creations- please let us know if you won a ribbon or an award so we can recognize you in our next newsletter. We have a busy fall ahead of us- we'll be attending training on the new BERNINA 700 series in Indianapolis, participating in the Bluegrass Quilt Show in Shepherdsville September 27th-29th and hosting the October ASG meeting at our Landis Lakes store on the 11th. In addition, we are very excited to be hosting Kevin Conley, educational consultant for SVP Worldwide, on September 21st and 22nd. On Friday, he will present "Artistry in Motion" featuring the endless creative possibilities of the new Platinum 3000 and Quilt Sew Clever and on Saturday, he will present "Feet, Feet, Hoops and More"- a trunk show of great ideas for using those special feet, hoops and other notions that we love to collect. On Saturday, October 20th Elaine Cibelli, BERNINA educational consultant, will present two sessions of “Sewing Celebration”. Whether you like sewing clothes, quilts, gifts or for your home, see how the latest accessories, techniques, gizmos and gadgets will turn your sewing vision into a beautiful reality. We do hope you’ll be able to join us for Kevin’s and Elaine’s programs- they are definitely not to be missed no matter what brand you own and require a very small investment in time and money compared to the fabulous tips you’ll learn. We hope you will enjoy the classes and events we have planned for you the remainder of 2012 and now into 2013 with our Anita Goodesign Party in May and our Stitching Sisters Event in September2013.Please let us know what you else you would like to learn to do- it really helps us with our planning. We look forward to seeing you soon! Happy Sewing! Linda
