Two Opportunities to Pray!

On Wednesday 20th September at 8pm we will gather to pray for our church life and witness and this time....how we reach outwards into the local communities trying to share the love of Christ with those around us. Also, we will bring before Almighty God the needs & concerns of his world at this challenging time and pray for one another. And on Monday 25th September between 7am & 9.30am you are invited to join us for a Drop-In Brexit Prayer Breakfast. In the difficulties surrounding Brexit many of us feel fairly helpless. But we can bring our concerns to our loving Father and pray for the main protagonists. Just drop in for as short or long a time you can manage....on the way to work; having dropped the children at school, whatever your situation – all welcome! Drinks and croissants provided. Both these take place in the church centre. And today I read this passage from St Paul....2 Corinthians 2:10-11 which I found very helpful, especially the reminder not to let Satan outwit us. Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven – if there was anything to forgive – I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. And as 1 Peter 5:8 warns us......Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. We should take heed and be aware!!!!
