Fabric Amounts: •
2/3 yards of 6 different fabrics, for a total of 4 yards. I used Batiks, but any good quality 100% cotton fabrics will work. Choose medium scale prints (up to 2”), small prints, and near-solids. The fabric amount listed is generous to allow for shrinkage, straightening, and boo-boos.
To do before class: Prewash fabrics, if desired. Iron if necessary. For long foundation pieces, cut 3 strips 2 ½ x WOF from each of the 6 fabrics. (Continued on next page)
Do not trim off selvages. You will make a total of 6 foundation strip units. Each unit will be made up of three strips from the same fabric. For the short weaving strips, cut 4 strips 2 ½ x WOF from each of the 6 fabrics for a total of 24 strips. Do not trim off selvages. Please bring any left over fabric with you to class for boo-boos and test sewing.
