The Scripture Places Great Importance On The Fact That The Messiah Would Be Born Of A Virgin
a. Matthew where Joseph receives the news…draws great attention to Isaiah’s prophecy (Matthew 1:23 & Isaiah 7:14) b. Luke where Mary receive the news…draws great attention to how this could possibly be (Luke 1: 35)

The Significance Of the Virgin Birth
a. The virgin birth is important is speaking of who Jesus is i. Luke 1: 31-33 ii. John 1: 14 iii. Isaiah 9: 6 iv. God’s own words…Matthew 3:17 at Jesus’ baptism; Matthew 17:5 & 2 Peter 1: 17-18 at the Mount of Transfiguration b. The virgin birth speaks of what Jesus is qualified to do i. Matthew 1:21 ii. John 1:29 & Revelation 5: 6-10 iii. Romans 5: 8-11 & 1 Corinthians 15: 21-22 c. Without the virgin birth, we would have no Savior… we would be hopelessly lost in our sin
