Setting Up iPad and Installing the PlumTerminal App (iOS 8) Note: The screenshots and instructions contained in this document assume that your device has been upgraded to at least iOS 8. You may wish to upgrade your device’s operating system prior to following these instructions, but it is not necessary as long as it is running iOS 8 or above. ***If you are using a printer for coupon printing, the printing instructions begin on Page 11.*** 1) Launch the Settings app by tapping its icon from the home screen.
2) Tap General on the left side (if necessary), then turn Multitasking Gestures OFF.

6) To download the Plum Terminal Application: a) Exit the Settings app and navigate to the App Store icon.
b) When the App Store opens, tap the search box on the top right and search for “plumterminal”.
c) When the search locates the PlumTerminal app, tap the name to download and install it.

d) If prompted for an Apple ID/password, use the Apple ID and password that were emailed to you from PlumReward:

e) When the installation is complete, tap ‘OPEN’ to launch the application.

7) You will now be prompted to enter the Username and Password for your terminal. This is a SEPARATE set of credentials from those given to you to login to the Merchant Control Panel.
8) Now that the PlumTerminal App is open, Guided Access needs to be enabled to stop the curious guest from using the device for alternate purposes: a) The next few steps are very important as this is your MAIN safe-guard to prevent customers from unauthorized use of the iPad. b) When in the PlumTerminal app, triple-tap the Home button. c) The Accessibility Shortcut will appear on the screen with the PlumTerminal app in the background. d) When this appears, tap the Start button on the top right of the screen. The iPad will now be completely locked down. e) If you need to leave the PlumTerminal app, triple-tap the Home button again and you will be prompted for the 4-digit pin-code that you specified in step 4b. f) Make sure that every time you start the PlumTerminal Application, you repeat steps 8b to 8d above.

Setting Up Bluetooth Printer (iOS 8) ***These instructions are based on the assumption that you are using a Star Micronics Bluetooth printer (model TSP-654IIBI-24). 1) Plug the printer in and turn its power switch to the ON position. 2) Tap the Settings App on the Home screen of the iPad.
3) Tap Bluetooth on the left side: a) Turn Bluetooth ON (if necessary). b) The device name “Star Micronics” should appear as an available device for pairing, along with the words “Not Paired”.

4) To pair the Bluetooth printer with the iPad: a) On the back of the printer you will see a red PAIR button.

b) Press and hold the pair button and then tap the words “Not Paired” on the iPad. This will start the pairing request with the printer. c) Shortly thereafter, the screen will appear as shown below. If a connection error appears on the screen, repeat the previous step, as it sometimes takes a few attempts to establish the Bluetooth connection.

5) Now that the iPad and printer and paired, scroll down the left side of the screen in the Settings App and tap PlumTerminal: a) You will notice that, by default, the printer type says BT650 which is correct for the Bluetooth printing. b) IF this is anything different, it NEEDS TO BE CHANGED BACK TO BT650.

6) The printer and iPad are now connected to print, but there are a few more steps: 1) To set your iPad for coupon/visit printing, log into the Merchant Control Panel at: http://merchant.plumreward.com (use the credentials emailed to you when you created your PlumReward account). a) Click Device Configuration.
b) Select the iPad terminal that you wish to configure from the drop-down menu.

c) Select the type of printing that you are doing. Coupon Printing will be used for most scenarios. If you are using Remote Visit Receipts for environments where the customer will NOT be directly interacting with the iPad terminal, then you will need to turn on Visit Printing.
d) Click the Submit button to save your changes. 7) Test printing: a) If you are printing for coupon redemptions 1. Open the PlumTerminal app. 2. Tap the Redeem Coupon Code button. 3. Enter the test coupon code 086-753-090. 4. A test coupon should print. b) If you are printing for customer visits 1. Open the PlumTerminal app 2. Tap the Print Visit Receipt button. 3.
