BERNINA EDUCATION Bernina Mastery Classes The first through fourth Thursday of each month 10:00 am - 12:30 pm Cost: Free if your Bernina was purchased at Sew Many Quilts. If purchased at another store - $30.00 per class Instructor: Brenda Sheppard Machine Mastery Classes will make you more proficient with your sewing machine, as well as introduce you to more of the functions that your sewing machine has to offer. You will also learn about presser feet and different accessories that Bernina has. First Thursday: Machine Basics You will gain information about needles and threads, cleaning and oiling your machine, the functions on your machine and how to use them. Second Thursday: Feet and Accessories You will learn about the presser feet & accessories that came with you machine, how to use them, and about other presser feet that are available from Bernina. Third Thursday: Computerized Machines You will learn some of the unique features of your computerized machine and how to use them. Fourth Thursday: Embroidery Machines Only If your machine includes embroidery you will learn about threads, stabilizers, hooping, and how to stitch out a design.

This fun table runner will teach you how to accurately piece, the process of layering and quilting, the tools of the trade, how to make half square triangles, flying geese, and more. Beginning Hand Embroidery Saturdays, April 20 & May 11 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Cost: $20 plus pattern & towel Teacher: Linda Engebretson Hand embroidery is such a relaxing pastime. Let Linda teach you how to do all the stitches to finish a beautiful towel.
Beginning Hand Appliqué March 9, March 16, April 6 Saturdays, 2:30-5:00 pm Cost: $30 plus pattern Teacher: Gail Ransdall Join the hand appliqué craze! Gail will show you her favorite method of hand appliqué using the freezer paper & starch method. This will be a hands-on class that will cover all the basics of materials and stitches. She will show you how to prepare your fabric and teach you about tools and techniques to perfect your appliqué skills.
MACHINE EMBROIDERY Beginning Machine Embroidery Saturdays, February 23 & March 2 Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Cost: $60 (includes handouts) Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten Now that you have purchased a Bernina that will do machine embroidery, it’s time for a class that will teach you the best ways to do it. This goes beyond your basic introductory “Mastery” class. You will learn all about stabilizers, hooping, threads, needles, how to use the free Bernina program ArtLink to tweak your embroidery designs and spend a full day stitching out different designs.
Hoopin’ It Up Basics Meets the 4th Friday of each month 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten $15.00 plus kit/ design cost if used If you have a Bernina embroidery machine, but still are a little hesitant to use it, or you just enjoy getting together with “the girls” to embroider, this is the group for you. Each month you will learn a different embroidery skill, from how to stitch on knits, denims, etc. to how to do “In the Hoop” projects. We learn new techniques and take home a completed project each month. You will need to bring your own threads, embroidery machine &/or module, hoops, whatever means you need to transfer the design to your machine, & basic sewing supplies.
Trick or Treats Fridays, April 12, May 10, June 14 Cost: $45.00 plus pattern Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten This class is for machine embroiderers who love Halloween. This year we’re getting a jump on the season. This class is best suited to those who have had some experience with machine embroidery.

It fits wonderfully into your purse, holds sewing supplies, hair products, or whatever you can imagine. This one is so quick and easy and you can make two from two fat quarters. Bright and colorful, sophisticated, or shabby-chic. It’s your call.

3 - Dimensional Leaves Thursday, April 18 Time: 5:45 pm – 7:45 pm Cost: $15 Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten Have you seen the 3-Dimensional leaves on the Harvest Pumpkin wall hanging that we have in the shop? They add so much to the quilt. In this class you will learn how to make those dimensional leaves. The technique can be applied to anything that you want to make dimensional.

Doll Club 3rd Sunday of the month Time: 12 noon – 4:00 pm Cost:$5 per session Teacher: Pat Fry Do you have a daughter, granddaughter, or niece with an 18" doll? These clothes make great gifts that take hardly any fabric and guarantee hours of fun for any little girl. We will be making one outfit a month for seven months. Pat will teach all steps from creating the pattern on paper to the finishing touches. Pat has extensive garment sewing experience and knows lots of tricks of the trade.
Quilting Divas Each Tuesday of the month 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm $3.00 Come join this group of ladies that meets twice a month to work on their various quilt projects. It's a fun, relaxing time for everyone. Start at 2:00 pm and sew until about 8:00 pm.
