Shadow Play
School Age Program 45–60 minutes
Shadow Play Description Use your imagination to have some fun playing with shadows and light.
Materials Light source such as a lamp, overhead projector, or bright flashlight Paper Colour or patterned paper Card-grade paper Tape and glue Cardboard box Tissue paper Scissors Markers Wooden skewers
Preparation Prepare a shadow box for the “Shadow Puppets” activity. Prepare examples of shadow puppets, or practice hand-shadow images to demonstrate to participants. Select books and pictures that show the different imagery that can be created using light and shadow.
