Sharks Youth Hockey League
Jr Sharks House League 2017 Summer League The San Jose Jr Sharks and Solar4America Ice at San Jose are proud to announce that registration for the JSHL, Summer League is now open. Fielding teams in five different age divisions, it is the goal of the JSHL to not only to develop a players’ hockey skills, but to create an environment where Bay Area youth can learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, good work ethic, and positive attitude.
Practices, Games and Format Practices will focus on individual skill development, consisting of drills that will improve the players skating, passing, shooting, and puck-handling skills. Players will learn the proper techniques for the different skills needed to play ice hockey. For games, a mix of full ice and small area games will be used. In the full ice games, players will have the chance to learn team concepts and positional tactics. During the small area games, players will be forced to make quicker decisions and make players in less space which will accelerate their individual skill development. Complete Program 15 practices and 15 games JSHL Summer jersey Practices begin week of April 24th Cost is $685 dollars ($710 for payment plan)
Games Only Program 15 games JSHL Summer jersey Games begin weekend of May 20th Cost is $475 dollars
Volunteer Coaches JSHL is asking for a small number of volunteer coaches per age division to assist in practices and games. Coaches’ duties will include running practice stations, monitoring locker rooms and assisting Solar4America Ice staff coaches run the benches for games. If you or someone you know is interested in this, please review the information and register on the Coaching section of the JSHL homepage.
Age Divisions and Schedules Below are the age divisions and a sample schedule. Exact schedule is subject to change. For the first portion of the season, those in the complete program will have weekday and weekend practices until the weekend of May 20th, which is when games will begin.
