Jr Sharks House League Advanced Skills Series ’01-’04 Birth Year Players Back again this summer, the Jr Sharks House League is offering the JSHL Advanced Skills Series which consists of four, clinic style programs, each focusing on a specific hockey skill. Open to 2001 through 2004 birth year players with at least one year of hockey league experience, these sessions will push a player’s comfort level and introduce advanced techniques. th

Checking I & II – Principles of body contact, body checking, stick checking, boxing out, pinning and receiving checks will be reviewed. Participating in Checking I session is not a prerequisite to attend Checking II session. Shooting – Participants will go over wrist shots, snap shots, slap shots, backhand shots, changing shooting angles, shooting through screens and shooting in stride. Stickhanding – Elements of dribbling, expanding range, puck protection, dekes, toe drags and other fakes will be reviewed.
Lead coaches will include Nick Gialdini, Jr Sharks 18AAA Assistant Coach and Squirt BB1 Head Coach, Brandon Hirschel, Jr Sharks 11AAA and 13AAA Assistant Coach, and Matt Adams, Jr Sharks 12AAA Head Coach and Sharks Ice Youth Hockey Manager, as well as other Jr Sharks coaches. Fee is $95 per session. All players must be currently registered with USA Hockey. Again, this program is geared towards players who have had at least one year of hockey league experience.
