Dear Parents, Welcome back to a sunny Term 5! As the weather is turning lovely and warm, I would like to remind you of our summer uniform rules. Key Stage 2 (3, 4, 5 & 6) Our junior children are not expected to wear ties when it is hot so they may just wear either long or short sleeved shirts with smart grey shorts or skirts. White or grey socks please should be teamed with smart black shoes. No open toed sandals are allowed. The girls may wear a blue gingham summer dress (not navy). Key Stage 1 (R, 1 & 2) Polo shirts with logos should be worn as normal either with a smart grey skirt or shorts. Grey or white socks should be worn with smart black shoes (no open toed sandals please). Girls may wear a blue gingham summer dress (not navy). All children should have with them a royal blue cardigan or sweatshirt with the school logo. No hoodies please and if you have a school fleece, this may be worn outside only. If you are in any doubt please refer to the website of our uniform supplier, Mapac. Soon your children will need to bring sun hats or caps to school and you will also find these on the Mapac website. The most important rule is please name everything clearly, even with just a surname, so we can reunite lost property with its owner! When you feel it is necessary to start applying sun cream to your child, we would be grateful if you could do this every morning before school as we do not really want 213 bottles of sun cream at school and 213 children spending half their breaktimes smothering theirselves! Of course we do understand that there are special circumstances when a child will need sun cream at school and if this applies to your child, please let the office staff know. We always encourage the children to cover up in the sun and play in the shade where possible as well as take on board plenty of water but we do want to be able to spend as much time as possible outside during these next 2 terms. Ear Piercing If you plan to have your child’s ears pierced, please wait until the very beginning of the summer holidays as your child will be unable to take part in P.E until she/he can remove the earrings. Internet Safety We are being visited by PCSO Ashley Gorton on Wednesday 29th April who is delivering an Internet safety presentation to parents at 9am and Classes 5 & 6 later in the day. Please see the separate letter, sent home today, which gives you more information. Mrs S Garrett Headteacher After School Club We still have places available for our special Falconry afternoon on Thursday 30th April. Please call the office if you are interested.
