WHO WE SERVE • 75% of our clients are families with children • 59% of families served are single-parent • Over 50% of the adults we serve are employed when they enter our facilities • 18% of clients are Veterans • 61% of families are experiencing homelessness for the first time
METHODOLOGY – BEYOND THE BED • Combines traditional shelter with caseworkers and supportive services to break the cycle of poverty • Instills proprietorship for clients over their housing, family, and employment • Demands drug & alcohol intolerance • Encourages client participation with courage and discipline: • To achieve ongoing self-sufficiency, clients must: • Regain self motivation & self discipline • Focus on education, saving, strong work ethic, and healthy lifestyles • To reduce dependence on entitlement programs, clients must: • Attend school or become employed • Perform daily chores; meet curfew • Plan & budget - Save a minimum of 50% of income • Attend mandatory seminars/workshops: • Financial literacy • Parenting skills • Job preparation
