Meet Our Social Chair! My#name#is#Sarah#Wylan#and#I#am#a#sophomore#at#K5 State.#I#am#studying#Fine#Arts#with#a#concentration#in#Graphic# Design.#This#semester#I#was#elected#as#the#Social#Chairman#for# our#Theta#Tau#chapter.#As#social#chair,#I#have#learned#to#take# on#big#events#that#are#held#in#a#short#amount#of#time.#The# responsibility#and#time#commitment#for#my#position#has# strengthened#my#ability#to#communicate#with#the#Manhattan# community#as#well#as#other#Greek#chapters#on#Kansas#State’s# campus.# Each#semester#the#social#chairman#plans#two#date# parties.#In#February#there#was#a#Team#Sigma#Kappa#Winter# Olympics#date#party#at#Kathouse#in#Aggieville.#Most#women#in# the#chapter#will#either#bring#a#date,#or#just#go#with#their#sisters# to#the#event.#The#themes#are#one#of#the#main#reasons#why#date# parties#and#social#events#are#fun.#In#the#beginning#of#March# our#chapter#participated#in#a#social#with#the#men#of#Pi#Kappa# Alpha#(Pike).#It#was#held#at#their#chapter#house#and#we# learned#how#to#swing#dance.#Everyone#had#a#wonderful#time# and#was#able#to#learn#a#few#new#moves!#The#weekend#after# Spring#Break#was#our#Sigma#Kappa#Violet#Ball#at#the#Sunset# Zoo.#Girls#came#with#their#dates#to#dine,#dance#and#make# memories#with#their#sisters#for#one#last#time#in#the#semester!## Dove Love, Sarah#Wylan## Social#Chair##

Advisory Board Update! On behalf of the members of Theta Tau I would like to welcome three new women to the Advisory Board. Marilyn (Hetzel) Cuch has taken on the role as advisor to three different positions: Vice President of Alumnae Relations, Panhellenic Delegate, and Jr. Panhellenic Delegate. Amy (Casemore) Mason has taken on the role as advisor to the Triangle Correspondent and, finally, DeAnne (Murray) Tworek is our new Ritual Chair advisor! All of these roles are completely voluntary and we appreciate every second of work these women put into our chapter. All of the officers are so excited to work with their new advisors; you will all be a great asset to Sigma Kappa! Along with this welcoming I would like to send a HUGE thank you to the women who are no longer serving on the Advisory Board, Allison Morris and Mindy Smith. Theta Tau was so lucky to have you and your help while with Advisory Board and you will be missed!
Join us for the Glow Run! The Theta Tau chapter will be their second annual Glow Run 5k on Sunday April at 7:30p.m. The race will be hosted in conjunction with the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and the KSU Gerontology Club! It was a blast last year and we are so excited to put on the race again. The proceeds will go towards the Alzheimer’s Association, so it is a great way to still support our philanthropy.
