2017 LVLL Skills Competition Rules Home Run Derby (All divisions) Cost - $5 per player Awards for 1st and 2nd Place in each division. Fastest time wins. - No score for missed base. No retry. Around the Horn (Farm and Major Divisions Only) Cost - $10 per team. Team consists of four players. Awards for 1st and 2nd place in each division. (Medals at Closing Ceremonies) - Players must be from the same team in the same division. - Teams may enter more than one team of four players. - Fastest time throwing the ball twice around the bases. Catcher starts with the ball while standing on home plate, throws to third, to second, to first, then home. After the second time around the catcher throws the ball down to second base. Time starts when third baseman catches the ball. Time ends when the shortstop receives ball from the catcher and touches second base. - An overthrown or dropped ball is considered in play and time shall continue. - Three chances per team to post a time. * All ties will be played off by another round of the event until a winner is established. *All awards will be presented at Closing Day Ceremonies.
