Skyview Boys Lacrosse Team Responsibilities 1. Players will treat all teammates, opponents, officials, coaches and team volunteers with respect at all times. 2. Players are expected to show up and be suited up ready to go on time for practice and an hour prior to all games (Home and Away). 3. Players are required to wear team issued practice gear and uniforms to all team functions. Players will not be allowed to practice or play in games without the proper team issued apparel. 4. Attendance at all games and practices is mandatory. If you are going to be missing practices or games for any reason, they must be cleared by the Head Coach, Michael Wilkerson. Acceptable methods of contact are to call or text his cell phone at (310) 283-9764, or email at [email protected] , all absences must be cleared at least 24 hours prior to the event. Acceptable absences are family emergencies, medical or health issues, mandatory school functions, and other issues at the coach’s discretion. If you are unsure if an absence is going to be excused, contact should always be made with the coach. 5. Consequences for unexcused missed team functions: a. Games: Dismissal from the team at the coaching staff discretion b. Practices: i. 1st violation: Conditioning to be completed prior to the following practice or game before being allowed to rejoin team ii. 2nd violation: Sitting for a minimum of 1 quarter in the following game, can be increased at the coaches discretion iii. 3rd violation: Sitting for a minimum of 2 quarters in the following game, can be increased at the coaches discretion iv. 4th violation: Dismissal from the team at the coaches discretion 6. Playing time in games will be determined based on player safety, effort in practice and general skill level. Playing time is solely at the coaching staff discretion and will not be discussed in any circumstance prior to or after any game or practice. The best course of action is always for players to discuss concerns and areas for improvement directly with coaches. If a parent has concerns about playing time, coaching style, etc., these should be raised with the board, who will then communicate appropriately with the coaching staff. I agree to abide by all team rules outlined above at all times:
