SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

What is your first memory of really being able to participate in church life (worship, communion, acolyte, leadership, Christmas program)? What kind of emotions did you experience at the time?
Grace
This week we looked at grace – the unmerited favor of God. We cannot manufacture God’s grace; it is given to us for acceptance. Once received, God’s grace takes us from being distant from God to being like Christ. As you read the Scripture below and answer each question, consider where you are in that transformation process as well as how you got into that process in the first place.
Who are the people in your life who have taught you (or shown you) the most about God’s grace? What made their lessons so impactful?
Read 2 Timothy 1:6-10. Based on this passage, in what discernable ways does God’s grace mark the life of a believer? (List them).

These marks of a believer are our character traits. Some develop more strongly than others. o Which of these traits have become well-developed in your life? o In what way do you already share these character traits with your church family? o In what new ways might you be able to share them (with a new age group, a different ministry, a specific person, etc.)?
Pray Together
God’s grace is an essential mark of the individual disciple and of the collective disciples, the Church. Pray that God’s grace would continue to be our distinguishing mark. Pray especially that we would clearly and intentionally pass this mark on to the next generations of disciples in our congregation. (And of course, pray for the kids of Congo.)
