SNACK POUCH PINWHEEL

SNACK POUCH PINWHEEL Put a new spin on the classic pinwheel with your snack pouches!
MATERIALS
• 1 clean snack pouch • 1 drinking straw • 1 earring post • 1 Rubber earring back • Pinwheel template (see template on page 3 of this PDF)
TOOLS
• Scissors • Thumbtack or needle
START!
STEP 1 Print and cut out the template.
STEP 2 Cut off the top, bottom, and sides of the pouch to remove all fused edges. Tape the template to the resulting rectangle.
TEMPLATE STEP 3 Cut out the square and along the dotted lines. Use the thumbtack to poke holes at the center and marked corners. You can take off the template now and set it aside.
STEP 4 Take your earring post and insert it into the corners one at a time, and then through the center.
STEP 5 Cut the rubber earring back into 2 pieces. Use 1 half of the earring back to compress the pinwheel towards the front of the earring post.
STEP 6 Use the pin to poke a hole near the top of the straw, and push the pinwheel and earring post through. Use the second piece of the rubber earring back to secure the pinwheel.
DESIGN TIP!
You can customize the tips of the pinwheel differently to create unique effects.
