New Palestine clinched a share of the conference title with an 111 win over Greenfield-Central on Thursday. The Dragons can clinch the outright title with a win Friday at Delta. GreenfieldCentral and Pendleton Heights remain in the running and can clinch a share by winning out and Delta beating NP. Mt. Vernon had a strong week, including a 2-1 showing in the Greenfield-Central Cougar Classic. Jadan Fithian led the Marauders by going 10-17 with four RBI on the week. New Castle’s Cameron Tabor had a big week, with 6 RBI and three extra-base hits, going 8-13. Yorktown won the Delaware County softball title with a 15-4 win over Delta in the championship game. Delta won the Blackford Invitational as Natasha Coy went 2-0. New Palestine is No. 1 for the sixth straight week in the ICGSA 3A poll. Yorktown is receiving votes. In Class 4A, Greenfield-Central is receiving votes.
Player of the Week Ashley Prange, New Palestine Prange had a big week, going 11-18 with four homers, four doubles and 10 RBI. Pitcher of the Week Audrey Ricker, Pendleton Heights Ricker threw a five-hit shutout in a conference game against Mt. Vernon.
