Science Bowl Success Southwestern Middle School recently competed in the Indiana Science Bowl. This academic competition consists of an experimental round, a team round, and an individual round. In December, teams were given an experiment to perform. This experiment is the basis for the questions during the experimental round. In the team round, all of the team members work together to answer questions. During the individual round, four team members answer questions on their own. The Southwestern team placed 3rd in the statewide competition. This marks the fth time in the contest's thirteen year history that Southwestern has nished in the top three. Snow Make-up Days Due to the snow days in January, school will now be in session on February 19, March 12, and March 30, 2018.
Spring Break Barring anymore inclement weather, Spring Break will be March 13-March 23. Any further snow days will be made up the rst week of Spring Break.
Middle School Valentines Dance The Middle School New Years dance will now become the Middle School Valentine's Day dance. It has been rescheduled for February 16, 2018 at 6:30 in the multipurpose room. If you have any questions, please see a middle school student council member.
Academic Teams We are currently doing sign-ups for the academic teams. We still need students for the English and Fine Arts teams. If you know of any students who might be interested or would be good on the teams, please encourage them to sign-up or contact me for more information. This year's topic is World War I. Thank you!
